| The wide screen as a link between man and energy |
|
It would be an understatement to say that the world is in a state of turmoil. The whole socio-economic setup of today is being torn to ribbons. The media, in a broad sense of the term, have a role in following and helping us to understand these upheavals. Cinema does not escape the rule. Energy is one of the major factors in these great changes, all the more so as the electricity and gas markets are in the process of liberalization which will have a profound effect on the economies of the industrialised countries. The Energy Film Festival Lausanne has a vocation to report on current changes. Not only does the Festival bring together on the same stage productions from all over the world - all different and yet each of specific interest - but it also bears witness to the common concerns of one another. Our festival is a channel of communication which is bound to evolve with the times. The ambition of the present edition is to be innovating in as many ways as possible. As well as the wide screen there will also be a section of films from television: "Advertising spots on energy". Almost fifty productions will be presented during the festival. This first event devoted to the small screen has been produced with the help of two influential partners: the French Swiss Federation of Communication and Advertising and the Association Publisuisse. |
