The traditional order of events established under "Energy on Wide Screen" also testifies to our desire for greater breadth. The hallmark of this year's festival is that all film styles are represented. The hard and fast documentaries of the past leave a greater place to productions of absolutely fascinating creativity: a welcome medley of genres allowing reports, fiction and animated synthetic images to come together all for our greater pleasure.

The 16th March will be an eventful day in the festival, commencing with a conference on a highly topical theme: Crisis management in terms of communication. Leading specialists from the management teams of Electricité de France, Gaz de France, Energie Ouest Suisse and the State of Valais among others will voice their views on the subject and answer questions from the public.

As can be seen, the 2001 festival can rightly claim to fulfil its vocation as a meeting place open to the world and the future. It will bring together professionals in the energy field, the socio-economic organizations, public authorities, representatives from education and industry, and last but not least, the general public. As a forum of exchange, communication and creativity, it stands out as an indispensable entity unique in kind.
