History

1986

The first International Energy Film Festival of Lausanne (FIFEL) is organised at the initiative of the Swiss Scientific Film Association.

1988

The success of the first edition encourages the organisers to hold a second festival. From this edition onwards, the FIFEL will naturally fit in with the audiovisual and cultural lanscape of French-speaking Switzerland.

1991

A new structure is put in place with the establishment of a Foundation of the International Energy Film Festival (FIFEL).

2000

The name is changed to Energy Film Festival Lausanne.
