Greenbees
By Daniel Bird, Czech Republic.

Award for best advertisement 2014
The jury's motive :
A simple and funny advertising project that places insects at the center of mankind’s struggle. Without insects, there can be no viable food chain. In this advertisement, the extinction of pollinizing insects sheds light upon the absurdity of a hypothetical world where the importance of small insects in natural ecosystems is not acknowledged.
Bendito Machine IV - Fuel The Machines
By Jossie Malis, Spain
Award for best 2014 short movie
Bendito Machine IV - Fuel the Machines from Zumbakamera on Vimeo.
The jury's motive :
The script quality of a short movie that successfully spans from the bicycle to the space rocket. Bendito Machine IV – Fuel The Machines mixes caricatures, fantasy and wit to depict the absurdity of a world ever more greedy for energy to satisfy its mobility needs and its leisure. Such creativity does not fail to remind of La Linea by artist Osvaldo Cavandoli where a Georges Méliès-like oneiric world carries us into a both real and unreal universe as it denounces the impact of overconsumption.
Atomic Africa : Clean energy's dirty secrets
By Marcel Kolvenbach, Germany
Award for best 2014 report and TV documentary
The jury's motive :
The narrative quality and the originality of this documentary present the issues of energy in Africa under a new perspective. Kolvenbach’s work begs the question whether Congo should give in to the nuclear lobbyists interests to meet its energy demands or rather aim at broader prospects in terms of energy supply. This documentary relates to the duality of Congo, a country with extensive uranium resources but where local economies do not reap any benefits from them as they are forced to face the ever-increasing pressure of foreign industries and their interests.
