SWISS ENERGY MULTIMEDIA

Founded in 1991, FIFEL foundation made a vow of transparency in regards to its motives. Its goals are clear: “The foundation’s primary goal is to promote, through cinematographic material or by means of retribution, information relating to all possible forms energy and their sources. This also includes current research and development, as well as technologies applied in the field. FIFEL also aims to foster dialogue between energy experts and the broad public. The foundation claims to be of public service and does not pursue any lucrative interest.”

The festival hosted in Lausanne every two years offers the audience a variety of some 700 movies. With that much visual material featured in the festival, it seemed appropriate to create a multimedia database available to schools, institution, researchers or anyone who shows interest in energy. This database is accessible online with more than a hundred entries available for viewing.

About sixty countries have provided contribution to this unique event where all energies are given proper recognition, without any discrimination. As of today, FIFEL archives feature documentaries equally covering several topics such as coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear fuel, hydroelectric power, solar power, geothermal power, wind power, tidal power and biofuel. These topics are always appreciated with regards to our planet and its natural environment. Are also featured in FIFEL archives prospective experiments, fictional and animated movies, and even a few more recreational commercials.

The Swiss multimedia database is a tribute to the great energy saga.
